Sydney Pemberton has a strong background in software engineering. They started their career as a Webmaster and Newsletter Editor at UTMB in 2005. In 2009, Sydney worked as a Database and Frontend Programmer at IBM. They then joined the Institute for Computational Engineering and Sciences (ICES) in 2010 as a Student Researcher, where they focused on maintaining and enhancing a ligand binding project and volumetric renderer written in C++. Sydney gained experience in using various tools and technologies such as OpenGL, Qt, cmake, gdb, gprof, astyle, and valgrind. They also implemented unit testing practices, discovered and eliminated bugs, and optimized performance. In 2012, Sydney joined Blackbaud as a Software Engineer II. They worked directly with clients, writing Java and SQL code and working on the Force.com platform. In 2017, they joined Shibumi as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2018. In 2019, Sydney joined Modis as a Software Engineer before moving on to Aunt Bertha, a Public Benefit Corporation, later that year.
Sydney Pemberton attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2006 to 2011, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science.
