Sampo Turunen

Sampo Turunen has extensive experience in electrical engineering, specializing in substation control and protection systems. Sampo currently works as an Expert in Secondary Systems at Fingrid Oyj since May 2019, focusing on the development and specification of engineering tools, remote access, substation LAN structure, IEC 61850, and OT cybersecurity. Prior roles include Specialist in Secondary Systems at Fingrid Oyj, Design Engineer and Project Manager at Omexom Suomi, and Design Engineer at Infratek, where Sampo contributed to substation secondary systems design and automation systems. Earlier experience includes research at VTT on microgrid protection, internships at VEO Oy and Fingrid Oyj, and summer trainee positions at Kemijoki Oy. Sampo holds a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Tampere University of Technology.
