Timo Kaukonen

Timo Kaukonen is a seasoned professional in Power System operations and energy markets with extensive experience in the field. Since September 1997, Timo has served as a Senior Advisor at Fingrid Oyj, where responsibilities encompass management of operational planning, transmission capacity calculation, system security, network modeling, and operator training, leading a unit of approximately 15 specialists. Prior to this role, Timo worked at IVO Voimansiirto Oy as Chief Design Engineer and Project Coordinator, focusing on a SCADA/EMS investment project and control center renovations. Timo began a career in the energy sector at Imatran Voima Oy as Planning and Chief Design Engineer, engaging in substation investments, automation, and R&D projects. Timo holds a Master of Science in Electrical Power Engineering from the Technical University of Tampere and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the Technical Institute of Helsinki, supplemented by executive education at HSE Executive Education in Helsinki.
