Tuomas Laitinen

Tuomas Laitinen is a Senior Expert at Fingrid Oyj since August 2001, specializing in asset management digitalization and IoT-method development for high voltage substations. Responsibilities include managing innovation challenges, establishing cooperation agreements with start-ups, preparing IoT roadmaps, and negotiating intellectual property rights. Laitinen serves as the representative for Finland on the Cigre study committee B3 for substations and has held various project management and advisory roles, focusing on gas insulated substations and asset lifecycle planning. Prior experience includes a role as a trainee at ABB Oy, concentrating on the thermal and electrical design of a permanent magnet Azipod unit. Laitinen holds a Master’s degree in electromechanics and electrical networks from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan and furthered education at Aalto EE and Aalto University.
