Kevin Yee has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering and development. Kevin started their career as a Data Science Intern at StartSe in 2018, where they designed and programmed a data analysis program to gain insights on startups worldwide. Kevin then worked as a Computer Lab Assistant at the College of San Mateo, where they assisted students in introductory Computer Science courses.
In 2019, Kevin joined Berkeley Lab as a Software Developer Intern in the Operations Technology Group. Kevin worked on data collection for the Operations Monitoring and Notification Infrastructure (OMNI) and documented the troubleshooting process for resolving issues. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Florida State University, teaching C++ and Python, conducting classes, grading assignments, and providing guidance to students.
Kevin continued their journey as a Software Developer Intern at the National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC) in 2020. Kevin contributed to the upgrade process of the monitoring infrastructure by preprocessing migrated data, redirecting data streams, and creating new dashboards. Kevin also investigated methods to identify data loss and facilitated knowledge discovery from the data.
In the same year, Kevin worked as a Mobile Application Developer at Florida State University and developed an Android application aimed at aiding the COVID-19 situation. The application included features like device scans, self-assessments for symptoms, and a self-quarantine tracker.
Currently, Kevin is a Software Engineer at Finix, where they started in 2021.
Kevin Yee received their Bachelor's degree in English from San Francisco State University from 2010 to 2014. Following that, they pursued an Associate's degree in Computer Science at the College of San Mateo from 2016 to 2018. Most recently, they obtained a Master's degree in Computer Science from Florida State University, completing their studies from 2019 to 2021.
