Gurpal Singh

Gurpal Singh is the Head of Compliance at Finix. Gurpal has over seven years of experience in auditing and compliance. Gurpal has a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).

Gurpal started their career as a Mortgage Loan Assistant at BB&T in October 2011. In January 2013, they became a Tax Assembly & Processing Assistant at CohnReznick LLP. Six months later, Gurpal took on a Student Analyst role at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

In June 2013, Gurpal began working as an IT Internal Auditor at GEICO. During their three years at GEICO, they conducted internal audits of GEICO’s information systems and applications to ensure they were compliant with company policies and procedures. Gurpal also assisted in the development and implementation of GEICO’s information security program.

In April 2016, Gurpal left GEICO to become an IT & Cloud Security Auditor at Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP. At Frank, Rimerman + Co., Gurpal conducted SOC 1 and SOC 2 compliance audits for SaaS startups hosting customer data in the cloud. Gurpal also provided SOC audit-readiness services to early-stage startups and assisted in mapping their internal controls to AICPA Trust Services Principles.

In July 2017, Gurpal joined Finix as the Head of Compliance. In their current role, Gurpal is responsible for ensuring that Finix is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations. Gurpal is also responsible for leading Finix’s efforts to obtain SOC 2 certification.

Gurpal Singh graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland. Gurpal then went on to get their certification from PECB in ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer.
