Michael Serna is an experienced software engineer and cofounder at Finix since April 2016, bringing a diverse background in education and finance. Prior to Finix, Michael served as a math teacher for Teach For America from May 2013 to June 2015 and worked as a body man for Emanuel Pleitez's mayoral campaign in Los Angeles from April 2012 to March 2013. Michael also gained valuable experience in investment banking, having completed a summer analyst role at Citi in 2011, where skills included developing financial models and working on significant debt issuances. Additional experiences include a summer analyst position at the U.S. Department of Treasury and participation in Goldman Sachs' Investment Banking Undergraduate Fellowship. Michael holds a B.S. in Finance and Economics from the University of Southern California and has furthered technical skills through education at Hack Reactor.
