Byrne Baister

Byrne Baister is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Head of Capital Markets at finmid since February 2025. Baister's prior roles include Capital Markets Director, Associate Director, and Capital Markets professional at Prodigy Finance from April 2019 to February 2025, as well as Associate Director of Portfolio Management at River and Mercantile Derivatives from September 2016 to April 2019. Previous experience includes positions at Credit Suisse, where Baister worked as both an Associate and Analyst in Fixed Income Derivatives Sales, and internships at Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and the African Genome Education Institute. Baister holds a Master's Degree in Operations Research from The London School of Economics and Political Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Business Science (Honours) in Quantitative Management from the University of Cape Town.
