Akhil Nigam

Akhil Nigam is a payments consultant with over 17 years of experience in the industry. In 2004, they began their career as an independent contractor and consultant. In 2010, they joined Citi as an Assistant Vice President, Treasury & Trade Solutions, where they were responsible for sales support and implementation of global transaction services for large corporate clients across the EMEA region. In 2012, they moved to Mastercard as a Vice President and Business Leader, Product Development. In 2014, they returned to Citi as a Vice President, TTS Commercial Payments, where they were responsible for growth of the Commercial payments portfolio. In 2016, they joined European Fintech as a Principal - Product Management, where they were involved in creating virtual banking e-money solutions and enabling eCommerce & POS transactions for merchants. In 2018, they founded Eastmen Global Consulting, an IT Solution Consulting and Fintech Advisory firm, and was also a Director, Product & Solutions Management at Rapyd. Most recently, in 2021, they became a Co-Founder at Finmo, a group of product builders, payment nerds, corporate bankers & payment risk & compliance professionals who have created products for consumers & businesses worth billions of dollars.

Akhil Nigam has an education history that includes a Chartered Banker degree from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Scotland between 2011 and 2013. Akhil also holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from the Indian Institute Of Information Technology Allahabad. Additionally, they have an Associate Member degree in Banking & Card Operations from the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance. Lastly, they obtained a M.S. in Financial Services from the University College Dublin. Furthermore, they hold two certifications from the Scrum Alliance, which are Certified Scrum Master and Certified Scrum Product Owner.
