The Finnish Postal Museum conducts research, records and exhibits phenomena related to the history of communication and goods traffic created by postal services. Collections of the Postal Museum comprise a large number of objects and images as well as all stamps issued in Finland and various philatelic special collections. The Museum hosts Finland's only public library specializing in philately and postal history, where researchers, philatelists and all interested have access to books and extensive archives.

Museum arranges exhibitions in Museum Centre Vapriikki and other locations, pedagogic programs and events. We collaborate extensively with schools, preschools and adult groups.

The Finnish Postal Museum is a Museum with National Responsibility. The museum carries out the national responsibility role in collaboration with Vapriikki (the Tampere Historical Museums). A Museum with national responsibility serves as an expert institution in its own special field — for us this includes communication, games, postal services, and digital life. We presents and preserves these themes to safeguard their cultural heritage. In particular, the preservation of digitally born materials is the key focus.
