Marko Saarela

Marko Saarela is an experienced information security professional currently serving as Information Security Manager at Finnvera Oyj since August 2018, overseeing the entire spectrum of cyber security with a focus on technical aspects. Previously, Marko held the position of Information Security Architect within the same company, responsible for operational duties and development activities in information security. Marko's background includes a role as Technical Project Manager at the Finnish Defence Forces from April 2008 to July 2018, managing web-based service portal projects and ensuring stakeholder objectives were met. Earlier experience includes a software engineering internship at Microsoft and a course assistant position at the University of Turku. Marko holds a Master's degree in Software Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering from the University of Turku, as well as a Master's degree in Command, Control and Communications from Maanpuolustuskorkeakoulu.
