William Balzer

Game Artist at Fire Hose Games

William Balzer has over a decade of experience in the game industry. From 2005 to 2008, they worked as a Contract Artist for Glitchless. During this time, they were responsible for most of the art in-game, creating enemies, weapon sets, environments, icons, and user interface art. From 2008 to 2013, they worked at Paragon Studios as a Senior Artist and Concept Artist. Theirresponsibilities included producing concept designs for creatures, characters, environments and props, supervising and providing art direction for environment art, 2D assets, character art, animation and VFX, and overseeing promotional content from the marketing department. From 2013 to 2017, they worked at Storm8 as a Lead 2D Artist and Senior 2D Artist. Theirresponsibilities included establishing the quality bar and insuring other artists were able to achieve their targets, creating promotional images to be used on the iOS App Store, and designing style guides for outsourcing. Since 2017, they have been working at Fire Hose Games as a Game Artist, creating key art and graphic designs templates for pitch decks, developing game prototypes, and creating UI/UX mock ups and art assets.

William Balzer attended the Savannah College of Art and Design from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sequential Art. In 2004, they attended the School of Visual Arts for 3DS Max Continuing Education.
