Ari Cohn

Ari Cohn is a Chicago-based attorney with a decade of experience focused on defending the First Amendment and free speech rights. As a nationally-recognized expert in these areas, Ari currently serves as Lead Counsel for Tech Policy at the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), having previously held roles including director of its Individual Rights Defense Program. Known for their advocacy and communication skills, Ari represents clients facing defamation claims and engages with diverse audiences on important tech policy and free speech issues. Ari’s previous experience includes positions at the U.S. Department of Education and Mayer Brown LLP, among others, where they handled complex legal matters. Ari holds a Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School and a BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
