Zhen Li

Zhen Li's work experience includes being a Query Optimization Tech Lead at Firebolt since February 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Firebolt from October 2021 to February 2022. Before joining Firebolt, Zhen Li worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Splice Machine from July 2020 to August 2021. They also have experience as a Senior Developer and Developer at SAP, with roles from June 2016 to December 2018 and from January 2019 to July 2020, respectively. Their earlier work experience includes being a Scientific Staff Member at the German Research School for Simulation Sciences from October 2011 to January 2015, and an Intern at Microsoft Research Asia from December 2008 to June 2009.

Zhen Li obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Harbin Institute of Technology in 2009. Zhen then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from the same institute from 2009 to 2011. Later, from 2011 to 2015, Zhen Li was a Doctoral Candidate in Computer Science at RWTH Aachen University. In 2015 to 2016, they attended Technische Universität Darmstadt, where they obtained a Doctor of Natural Sciences degree in Computer Science. Additionally, they completed several certifications in various topics such as Programming Languages, Machine Learning, and Compilers from Coursera. Specifically, Zhen Li obtained certifications in Programming Languages, Parts A, B, and C in 2019, Machine Learning in 2019, and Compilers in 2012.
