Chris McCafferty

Chris McCafferty has over 20 years of experience in the energy and finance industries. Chris began their career in 1996 as an Associate Director at UBS Investment Bank, where they were trained in Zurich and then assigned to Singapore in 1997 to support the work around the Hong Kong handover and set up replacement reconciliation systems. Chris then moved to Credit Suisse in 2000 as a Technical Lead, where they were responsible for the technical implementation of the marketing web site. In 2002, they joined Dresdner Kleinwort as a Senior Developer, where they were responsible for Securities Lending systems and led the implementation of Triparty Repo functionality. In 2003, they moved to Barclays Capital as a Vice President, where they were responsible for a variety of Fixed Income development systems and projects. In 2011, they joined SunGard Consulting as a Principal, where they were responsible for bringing solutions to energy trading problems, as well as Big Data problems in the power transmission and pricing space. Finally, in 2016, they joined Spark Energy as the Director of Quantitative Analytics, where they were responsible for delivery of retail, commercial & industrial pricing for natural gas and power as well as load forecasting. In 2021, they became the Vice President of Product & Data Science at Firefly Energy Solutions.

Chris McCafferty obtained their MEng. from the University of Cambridge in 1996, and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) from the same institution. In 2015, they obtained an AWS Technical Professional certification from Amazon Web Services.
