Rick Zhuang

Rick Zhuang started their work experience in 2007 as a Tech Lead/Sr. Relevance Scientist at Yahoo! where they led personalization and ranking projects. Rick then joined Tencent in 2010 as a Director of Engineering, where they empowered product innovation and oversaw technological strategy planning. In 2014, Rick joined Alibaba Group as the Head of Engineering at Tmall New Retail, leading two high-profile programs and founding Taobao Content Platform. Rick worked at Alibaba until 2019. In the same year, Rick also worked as a Venture Fellow at Pear VC. Rick then became an Honorary Professor of Computing and Information Systems at the University of Nottingham in 2019. In 2020, Rick worked as an Advisor at Penguin Benefits, Inc. and currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at Firework, the world's largest video commerce solution for brands, retailers, and publishers.

Rick Zhuang obtained a Ph.D. degree from Penn State University. Following that, they attended Stanford University from 2008 to 2010, where they focused on Management Science and Engineering. In 2019, Rick pursued further education at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, receiving a Sloan Fellow, Master in Management for Experienced Leaders.
