Jared Smith

Jared Smith is an accomplished food science professional currently serving as the Senior Application Lab Manager for Dairy, Confectionery, and Desserts at dsm-firmenich since February 2023. With expertise in Protein, Nutrition, and Dairy applications, Jared leads strategic development for regional innovation platforms focused on high protein solutions and sugar reduction, while fostering co-creation and product development with clients. Prior roles at Firmenich included Product Development Lead and Food Technologist, where Jared specialized in plant-based and nutritional applications, optimizing formulations and processing methods. Jared's experience also encompasses a significant role as a pilot plant and laboratory instructional support specialist at Penn State's Department of Food Science. Educational background includes a Master of Science and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science from Penn State University.
