Michael Thompson began their career in 1992 as Vice President of Distribution and Distribution Systems for Office Depot. In 1995, they became a Partner at Ernst and Young. In 2000, they were promoted to Vice President at Capgemini. In 2004, they were a Senior Advisor, Private Sector at RAND Corporation, and they were also a founding member and Partner at Waterstone Management Group. In 2009, they became the CEO of First Analytics, a company specializing in helping companies become better competitors using advanced analytics.
Michael Thompson has a diverse educational background. Michael obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Cornell University. Michael then went on to receive a Master of Arts (M.A.) with Distinction in National Security Policy Studies from The George Washington University. Michael furthered their education by earning an M. Phil. and Ph.D. in Policy Analysis from Pardee RAND Graduate School. Additionally, they completed Executive Education in Mergers and Acquisitions from Stanford University and attended St. Stephen's Episcopal School. Michael also holds certifications in Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) from the State of North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, and Advanced Wilderness LIfe Support (AWLS) from the University of Utah School of Medicine.
