Marc Ashworth

Marc Ashworth is the current Chief Information Security Officer at First Bank. Marc was previously the Director of IT- Enterprise Systems and Integration at Essex Industries, Inc from November 2011 to September 2017.

At Essex Industries, Ashworth was responsible for participating in strategic and operational governance processes of the business organization as a member of the executive management team. Marc also established IT departmental budgets, goals, objectives and operating procedures. In addition, they maintained and established vendor relationships, IT procurement, and set standards for enterprise systems and architecture.

Under Ashworth's direction, the IT department successfully executed the business continuity plan and disaster recovery site. Marc also created the corporate IT security plan and enforced security related policies and procedures in compliance for NIST, ITAR, HIPAA and organizational needs. As the Director of IT, Ashworth was responsible for physical and cyber security, IT risk management, event investigation, and penetration testing. In order to mitigate risks, they performed network and security user training and executive security briefings.

Ashworth was successful in implementing virtual desktop and virtual server technologies that were featured in a Dell case study. Marc's experience in IT- Enterprise Systems and Integration makes him a valuable asset to First Bank.

Marc Ashworth has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Missouri Southern State University. Marc also has a certification from ISACA in Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC). Marc also has a certification from (ISC)² in CISSP.

Their manager is Shelley Seifert, CEO & Chairman. Marc Ashworth works with Kelley Munn - Chief Procurement Officer, Joe Ambrose - Executive Director of the First Bank Center for Family-Owned Business, and Ed Furman - Chief Investment Officer.
