Michele Walkau

Michele Walkau is the Senior Vice President of Brand & Culture at First Capital REIT. Michele has over 19 years of experience in the field of organizational development and has worked for both GWL Realty Advisors and Brookfield Properties Corporation.

At GWL Realty Advisors, Michele led the Corporate Services & Building Excellence Team which was responsible for human resources, innovation, corporate branding, public relations, internal communications, sustainability (CSR) and smart property services. The team oversaw 300+ properties and over 900 employees.

Before joining GWL Realty Advisors, Michele was the Manager of Organizational Development at Brookfield Properties Corporation. In this role, they were responsible for leading and coordinating multiple initiatives aimed at improving organizational effectiveness.

Michele has a proven track record of success in organizational development and is passionate about helping businesses achieve their full potential. Michele is an innovative thinker and excels at developing creative solutions to complex problems.

Michele Walkau has a B.A. in English Language & Literature from Western University and a Masters of Science in Education from Niagara University. Michele also has various certifications from the Competent Boards in ESG Competent Board Designation, MIT Sloan Executive Education in Internet of Things: Business Implications and Opportunities, and IESE Business School in Strategy and Sustainability.

Michele Walkau reports to Adam Paul, President & CEO. They are on a team with Marcel Parsons - VP, Asset Strategy & Valuations, Sarah Heppinstall - VP, Construction, and Alison Harnick - SVP, General Counsel.
