Joan Kapusnik-Uner

VP, Clinical Content at First Databank

Joan Kapusnik-Uner is vice president of clinical content where she is responsible for overseeing teams responsible for the creation of clinical decision support modules implemented in various medication use cycle workflows, and for assisting in the development of future CDS that is patient and population-informed for more precision. Dr. Kapusnik-Uner’s responsibilities include managing clinical evidence collection processes and maintaining editorial policies that are utilized to produce and maintain FDB MedKnowledge™, FDB OrderKnowledge®, and Meducation® solutions. A clinician with deep clinical expertise and knowledge of drug informatics, Dr. Kapusnik-Uner works to ensure that the clinical content published by FDB continues to evolve to support the company’s vision through innovative solutions.

Dr. Kapusnik-Uner is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy at the University of California San Francisco and has been a long-time member and contributor of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Prior to joining FDB, she was full-time faculty at UCSF and practiced as a Clinical Pharmacist in Infectious Disease/HIV Care at San Francisco General Hospital.
