Christopher Owers

Christopher Owers has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Currently, they are the Global Head of Regulatory Solutions at First Derivative, where they oversee the existing Regulatory Solutions workforce and collaborates with the leadership team to define and deliver the strategic plan for growth.

Prior to this, Christopher worked at UBS, starting as the Director of EMIR Client Delegated Reporting before becoming the Executive Director of Transaction Reporting Manager. Christopher then served as the Executive Director and Head of UK Regulatory Transaction Reporting at UBS, responsible for various teams involved in meeting UK reporting obligations.

Before UBS, Christopher was the Vice President of EMIR/Dodd Frank Change Management at the Royal Bank of Scotland. At Goldman Sachs, they held roles as the Regulatory Reporting Manager and Asset Servicing Specialist, managing non-financial reporting requirements and coordinating migration projects.

Their early experience includes working as a Corporate Actions Processor at State Street. Throughout their career, Christopher has demonstrated expertise in regulatory compliance, team management, quality assurance, and strategic planning.

Christopher Owers obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Accounting and Finance from Heriot-Watt University, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. Prior to that, they attended Brae High School from 1995 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Christopher has obtained various certifications, including the Oxford Fintech Programme from the University of Oxford in 2021 and several artificial intelligence-related certifications from institutions such as LinkedIn and Google, which were obtained between 2022 and 2024.
