Adam Barela is a seasoned finance professional with extensive experience in credit analysis and mortgage sales. Currently serving as both a Commercial Credit Analyst and Mortgage Sales Manager at First Financial Credit Union since April 2021, Adam previously held positions including Mortgage Loan Officer at U.S. Eagle Federal Credit Union from June 2018 to April 2021, and Portfolio Mortgage Loan Officer and Account Relationship Officer at Rio Grande Credit Union from May 2014 to June 2018. Adam's career began at Wells Fargo as a Personal Banker from July 2012 to April 2014. Adam is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Financial Management Services at The University of New Mexico, with an expected graduation in May 2026, having previously earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the same institution in 2012.

First Financial Credit Union was formed in 1937 by ten members of the telephone company here in New Mexico. In the early 80s, the breakup of the Bell System occurred. With the breakup came a period of downsizing in the state. At this point, First Financial chose to pursue additional fields of membership so as to not be impacted by the changes in its environment.
