The FIRST® in Texas Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports FIRST® Robotics teams and events across Texas with a focus on increasing accessibility for low-income and underrepresented students. FIRST® participants are significantly more likely to attend college, major in science or engineering, and be outstanding future employees and citizens. By investing in Texas students’ participation in FIRST®, we address the growing demands of the STEM workforce.

WHO WE ARE

With guidance and oversight provided by the FIRST® in Texas Board, we disperse hundreds of thousands of dollars in team grants each year. FIRST® in Texas works closely with FIRST®, which inspires young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

The Grants and Corporate Engagement team at FIRST in Texas is responsible for securing funding and fostering partnerships to support the organization's mission of increasing access to FIRST® programs. The Corporate Engagement Specialist builds and maintains relationships with corporate sponsors and partners. The Grants Manager oversees the distribution and management of grant funds to ensure they are effectively utilized. The Grants Writer is tasked with creating compelling proposals to secure grant funding from various sources. Together, this team ensures the financial stability and growth of FIRST® in Texas programs, enabling more students to participate in life-changing STEM initiatives.
