The FIRST® in Texas Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that supports FIRST® Robotics teams and events across Texas with a focus on increasing accessibility for low-income and underrepresented students. FIRST® participants are significantly more likely to attend college, major in science or engineering, and be outstanding future employees and citizens. By investing in Texas students’ participation in FIRST®, we address the growing demands of the STEM workforce.

WHO WE ARE

With guidance and oversight provided by the FIRST® in Texas Board, we disperse hundreds of thousands of dollars in team grants each year. FIRST® in Texas works closely with FIRST®, which inspires young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills, that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

The STEM and Education Coordination team at FIRST in Texas is responsible for organizing, promoting, and executing various FIRST® Robotics programs across Texas. Their duties include coordinating events and challenges, managing logistics, and ensuring access to resources and support for low-income and underrepresented students. They work collectively to inspire a new generation of science and technology leaders by providing engaging, mentor-based STEM learning experiences, and championing the mission to enable every Texas student to participate in FIRST® Robotics.
