Kevin Smith has extensive work experience in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the transportation and school bus sectors. Kevin started their career in 2004 as the President of Smartrend Manufacturing Group (SMG), where they provided vision and strategic leadership for the company. Under their guidance, SMG became known for its commitment to customer service and quality. In 2018, they also took on the role of President at First Light Safety Products, a subsidiary of SMG. Through this role, they aim to enhance the safety of school bus journeys and eliminate school bus-related fatalities by introducing innovative illuminated technology.
Kevin Smith attended The University of Winnipeg from 1998 to 2002, but it is unclear if they completed a degree. Kevin also attended Red River College Polytechnic from 2002 to 2004, studying Business Administration.

First Light Safety Products (FLSP) is a division of Smartrend Manufacturing Group (SMG), Inc., established in 2007, a supplier to OEMs and industrial producers. SMG specializes in supply chain management of customer specific engineered components and assemblies using multiple materials and processes.
