Mario Epelbaum

Mario Epelbaum is an experienced finance professional with a robust background in portfolio management and asset management. Currently serving as Portfolio Manager-Partner at First New York since May 2016, Epelbaum previously co-founded and managed Tree Capital LLC, which focused on investments in Latin America from October 2008 to August 2014. Epelbaum has also held positions as a Portfolio Manager at Marathon Asset Management and Managing Director at both Artha Capital Management and Morgan Stanley, where a specialization in Latin America Equity Strategy was emphasized. Prior to the finance industry, Epelbaum was a Professor of Economics at ITAM from 1994 to 1996. Epelbaum earned a PhD in Economics from Stanford University and holds a BA in Economics, Mathematics, and Computer Science from Cornell University.
