Heather Watts is a highly experienced educator and advocate for social justice, currently serving as Principal and Partner at First Peoples Group since January 2021. With a diverse background, Heather has held positions such as Education Manager at the Six Nations Lifelong Learning Taskforce and Training Officer for Indigenous Learning & Reconciliation at the Nuclear Waste Management Organization. Previous roles include Academic Lead at the Six Nations Lifelong Learning Task Force and Design Researcher at the Innovation Hub at the University of Toronto, focusing on making higher education more accessible. Heather's early career includes curriculum development for the Democratic Knowledge Project and experience as a teacher in both general and special education. Academically, Heather is pursuing a PhD in Social Justice Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education of the University of Toronto, following a Master of Education from Harvard University and a Master of Arts from Teachers College, Columbia University, in addition to a Bachelor of Science from Syracuse University.
