First Place for Youth
Keith Shultz is an experienced professional with a diverse background in human resources, consulting, and non-profit leadership. Currently serving as a Board Member for First Place for Youth, Keith contributes to the organization’s mission of aiding California youth transitioning from foster care to independence. As a Consulting Partner at RedFish Consulting, expertise is provided in organizational strategy and change across various sectors. Previously, Keith held significant leadership roles at Kaiser Permanente as HR Chief Operating Officer and at Bank of America in a range of executive positions, including Executive Vice President roles focused on HR technology, operations, and e-commerce. Keith began a HR career at Security Pacific Bank, progressing through various managerial positions. Education includes attendance at California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, emphasizing a foundation in business.

First Place for Youth
First Place for Youth was founded in 1998 to prevent poverty and homelessness among youth who age out of foster care. The mission of First Place is to help foster youth build the skills they need to make a successful transition to self-sufficiency and responsible adulthood. First Place was the first organization dedicated exclusively to providing housing for transitioning foster youth in Northern California and has grown into the state’s largest provider for this vulnerable population. First Place utilizes a scattered-site housing program model, which puts youth in a realistic, independent setting in their local communities.
