Field Engineer at First Quantum Minerals

Jacques du Plessis is an experienced field engineer currently involved in the Kansanshi S3 Project and previously worked on the Cobre Panama project at First Quantum Minerals since December 2022. Prior to this, Jacques served as an Asset Management Consultant at Ausenco, focusing on maintenance tactics for the HME department at the Kumbu Iron Ore - Kolomela project from April 2021 to October 2022. From April 2019 to March 2021, Jacques was an Engineer-in-Training at Medupi Power Station with Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd, gaining valuable experience in boiler engineering and maintenance activities. Earlier, Jacques worked as a Technical Apprentice at Nika R&R, specializing in refrigeration systems, and contributed as a Vacation Student at Eskom, assisting with emission monitoring documentation. Jacques holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electromechanical Engineering from North-West University.
