Misende Kalenga

Misende Kalenga is an accomplished Electrical Engineer with extensive experience in the mining and processing sectors. Currently employed at First Quantum Minerals since May 2018, Misende oversees all electrical engineering functions, including 33kV power distribution across various sites. Prior to this role, Misende served at Konkola Copper Mines plc from November 2010 to April 2018, contributing as Assistant Engineering Superintendent - Electrical, where key accomplishments included replacing outdated circuit breakers, enhancing maintenance practices, implementing energy-saving measures, and achieving significant cost reductions. Misende's background includes project engineering roles focusing on instrumentation, control, and automation, with a solid foundation in electrical maintenance. Educational qualifications include a BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Plymouth and A-levels from Exeter College.
