John Thompson has a solid work experience in the banking industry. John started their career in 2001 as the Director of Small Business Lending at First Community Bank. In 2008, they joined First Sentinel Bank, where they held multiple roles including Chief Credit Officer, President, and ultimately Chief Executive Officer and President starting in September 2015. In their various roles, John was responsible for managing credit risk, establishing policies and criteria, and ensuring the bank's loan portfolio was analyzed accurately.

John Thompson attended Bland High School from 1993 to 1997, where they did not pursue a specific degree or field of study. Later, they joined Concord University from 1997 to 2001 and completed their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus on Finance.
