Joep Pijpers

Joep Pijpers is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in technical sales and energy storage technologies. Since October 2020, Joep has served as Senior Manager for Global Technical Sales at First Solar, after holding the position of Senior Manager for Technical Sales in LATAM. Prior to this, Joep led a research and development program on next-generation long-duration energy storage technologies at INEEL from June 2017 to October 2020, managing a significant budget. Joep's career also includes work as an Associate Manager at Lockheed Martin Advanced Energy Storage, where leadership of a cross-functional team focused on battery technology innovation occurred. Joep began a journey in clean-tech at Sun Catalytix, after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at MIT and participating in a multidisciplinary research project on education in the Netherlands. Joep holds a Master's and Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Delft University of Technology, a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Amsterdam, and a minor in Latin American Studies from Leiden University.
