Rouin Farshchi

Rouin Farshchi is a highly experienced engineer and researcher specializing in materials science and engineering with a significant background in process development and optimization. Currently serving as a Sr. Member of Technical Staff and Sr. Development Engineer at First Solar since September 2021, Rouin has previously worked as a Sr. Process Engineer at Lam Research and held various research roles at MiaSole, Institute of Physics AS CR, Nanosolar, and Paul Drude Institute. Notable achievements include leading the development of next-generation solar cell processing, pioneering research in spin-based information processing, and optimizing manufacturing processes for chalcogenide solar cells. Rouin holds a Ph.D., Master's, and Bachelor's degree in Materials Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley.
