Ray Mowery

Ray Mowery, MBA has a diverse work experience. Ray is currently serving as the Vice President/Senior Lender at First State Community Bank since June 2023. Prior to this, they had a long and successful career at the United States Department of Agriculture - Rural Development. During their tenure there from July 2004 to June 2023, they held various roles including Business Program Specialist and Area Specialist - Community Programs. In these roles, they managed a multi-million dollar loan and grant portfolio, oversaw rural business programs, and conducted marketing and outreach activities.

Before joining the USDA, Ray Mowery worked as an Adjunct Professor of Business at multiple institutions including Missouri S&T, University of Phoenix, East Central College, Columbia College, and Southwest Baptist University. In this role from August 2000 to December 2015, they taught various business courses both in traditional classroom settings and online forums for graduate and undergraduate degree programs. Prior to that, they attended the College of the Ozarks from 1991 to 1995, where they studied Administration of Justice & Psychology. More recently, in 2017, Ray obtained a certification in Business & Commercial Lending from the American Bankers Association, indicating their dedication to continuous education in the field.
