Shannon Barnes

Shannon Barnes is an experienced marketing and communications professional, currently serving as the Head of Marketing & Communications at Aware Super since August 2023. Prior to this role, Shannon held the position of Chief Product & Marketing Officer at BankVic from January to July 2023 and was the Head of Engagement & Delivery Practice at Cbus Super Fund from October 2021 to December 2022. Previous experience includes leadership roles at Medibank, including Head of Proposition, Head of Enterprise Project Practice, Head of Implementation & Operational Excellence, and Implementation Manager, among others. Shannon's career began at ME Bank as a Product Manager and Product & Communications Manager, and also included a role as Senior Account Manager at FleishmanHillard-Stratcom. Educationally, Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from RMIT University, completed between 1993 and 1996.
