John Batty Ceng

John Batty CEng has extensive experience in the rail industry, currently serving as Head of Digital Rail - ERTMS and Project Manager - ETCS Engineering at TransPennine Express since August 2021. Prior to this role, John worked at Great Western Railway from August 2015 to August 2021, taking on positions such as Senior Production Manager for London Thames Valley Outstations (Interim), Engineering Lead for EMU Introduction, and Depot Engineering Manager Technician. John's career began at FirstGroup as a Rail Engineering Graduate from September 2013 to July 2015. Additionally, John served as a Midshipman in the Bristol University Royal Naval Unit from October 2008 to June 2011. Educationally, John holds a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol, completed in 2012, and attended Audenshaw School from 2006 to 2008.
