Michael Fleming

Michael Fleming currently serves as the Operational Incident Investigation Manager at TransPennine Express since December 2023. Prior to this, Michael worked as the Risk Manager for Arriva Bus (UK) from October 2019 to December 2023 and as a Safety and Compliance Advisor with NEMOL North East Metro Operations Ltd from July 2017 to October 2019, where responsibilities included auditing, assurance checking, and creating monthly board reports. Michael’s career began at Arriva Trains Northern as a Train Conductor, and over the years, roles at First TransPennine Express included Conductor Standards and Training Officer, Conductor Competence Manager, and Train Service Manager. Academic qualifications include HCIMA passes in Financial and Marketing modules, NVQ level 4 Keyworker Skills for Business, and Basic Food Hygiene from Northumbria University.
