John Kunka

John Kunka, C.P.A., currently serves as Vice President of Fund Accounting and Administration at First Trust, overseeing financial reporting, accounting, and fund administration for over 250 ETFs and mutual funds since August 2023. In addition, John is the President of JMK Developers, LLC, focusing on leasing and developing retail spaces. Previously, John held the positions of Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer at Columbia Wanger Asset Management from 2006 to December 2021, where responsibilities included developing accounting practices for $300M in annual revenue and managing $45B in assets under management. Earlier career experience includes managerial roles at Calamos Investments and Van Kampen Investments, where John managed substantial assets under management and contributed to operational efficiencies. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
