Denise Phelps

Denise Phelps has a diverse work experience, starting in 1997 at First United Bank & Trust. Denise held multiple roles at the bank, including Community Office Manager, Sales & Service Leadership Manager, and Customer Service Representative. In 2017, they became the Market President, responsible for managing all retail banking offices and fostering holistic banking relationships in the Berkeley County, WV market. Denise also had involvement in various civic organizations, such as the Civitan Club of Martinsburg and Civitan Club of Frederick, where they served as a Board Member and President & Treasurer, respectively. Additionally, they held leadership positions at the Maryland School for the Deaf Foundation, Foundation for Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, Golden Mile Alliance, and Yehu Microfinance Trust. Denise's work in the field of microfinance extended to Global Giving, where they served as a Business Partnerships Intern and participated in capacity building workshops in West Africa.

Denise Phelps has a diverse education history. Denise first attended Brunswick High School, followed by Frederick Community College, where they earned an AA degree in Business. Denise then attended Frostburg State University, where they completed their undergraduate education and obtained a BS degree in Business Administration. Later, Denise pursued a Master's degree in International Development at American University. Additionally, they completed an MBA degree from American University's Kogod School of Business, specializing in Social Entrepreneurship/Non-Profit. Denise also attended MD Bankers Executive School and Maryland Banking School for shorter programs.
