Jim Matheson is a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School since July 2019, where courses taught include Entrepreneurial Finance and Tough Tech Ventures. Matheson also serves as Executive Chairman of Natural Intelligence Systems, Independent Director and Chair of the Investment Committee at FirstLight Power, and Board Member at City Of Good. As a Special Partner at Engine Ventures, Matheson aids founders in commercializing tough technologies. In addition, Matheson is a Venture Partner at Breakthrough Energy Ventures, working on strategic initiatives and investment strategies focused on climate-conscious innovations. Matheson has held advisory roles at New Politics and founded Fuzzy Capital, focusing on impactful entrepreneurship. Co-founder of Patriapps Software Venture Studio, Matheson contributes to developing socially impactful mobile applications. Prior experience includes serving as Campaign Manager for Seth Moulton’s 2020 Presidential run. Educational credentials include an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.
