Justin Trudell

Justin Trudell is the current Vice President of Operations at FirstLight Power. Justin has previous experience working as the Director of Operations at Brookfield Renewable from June 2009 to March 2018, where they were responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operations and maintenance of over 45 hydroelectric projects, including conventional and pumped storage, and one wind farm located in the northeast United States. Justin also managed an Operations and Maintenance budget of over $80M annually with a staff of over 75 managers, supervisors, and support technicians. In addition, they were responsible for maintaining a world-class Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) program focused on hazard recognition and barrier analysis.

Prior to their work at Brookfield Renewable, Justin served as a Nuclear Engineering Officer in the United States Navy from January 2004 to June 2009. During their time in the Navy, they were responsible for the operation of nuclear reactors and associated systems aboard nuclear-powered warships. Justin also served as a member of several cross functional working groups exploring leadership development, operational improvements, and employee engagement.

Justin Trudell has a Master of Business Administration from the UNH Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics and a BS in Economics and General Engineering from the United States Naval Academy.

Justin Trudell reports to Alicia Barton, President & CEO. Justin Trudell works with Elliot Stewart - Director, Risk & Insurance, Matthew Vestal - Head, Corporate Strategy, and Bob Kasle - Director, Origination. A direct report to Justin Trudell is and John Howard - Director, Operations.
