Stephen Smith

Stephen Smith is a prominent Canadian financial services entrepreneur currently serving as the Chair and CEO of Smith Financial Corporation. They co-founded First National Financial Corporation in 1988, leading as CEO until 2022 before becoming Executive Chair. Stephen has held notable positions, including Chair of Canada Guaranty Mortgage Insurance Company until 2023 and Chair of several organizations including Fairstone Bank and Glass, Lewis & Co. They hold a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Electrical Engineering from Queen's University, a M.Sc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, and have been recognized with numerous honors, including being inducted into the Canadian Business Hall of Fame in 2019.
