Vince Gavagan

Principal Engineer at FirstPass Engineering

Vince Gavagan has a diverse and extensive work experience in engineering roles. Vince started their career at Hypercom in 1998 as a Design Engineer, where they were responsible for the research and design of financial transaction equipment. Vince then joined Xyterra in 2000 as a Hardware Design Engineer, where they led the development of a million-gate Virtex II FPGA design.

In 2002, Vince joined Avnet as a Design Engineer, where they created reference designs for embedded processing applications using Xilinx architectures. Vince also researched and designed systems, as well as authored tutorials for Xilinx early access software.

Vince's next role was at Honeywell in 2005, where they served as a Senior ASIC/FPGA Design Engineer. Here, they played a key role in developing the simulation environment for PPC-based embedded processor systems. Vince also designed clock generation/distribution for a lock-step PPC440 processor system and developed a custom embedded PPC-based test platform for NASA Goddard radiation testing.

Most recently, in 2018, Vince joined FirstPass Engineering as a Principal Engineer. However, specific details about their responsibilities in this role are not provided.

Vince Gavagan received their Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from DeVry University, where they attended from 1995 to 1998.
