Ian van Heyst

Ian Van Heyst has a solid work experience spanning over several years. Ian is currently serving as the VP of IT Security & Data Privacy at FirstService Corp, where they lead the IT Security and Data Privacy team. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Director of Information Security & Risk Management at FirstService Brands. Ian also worked as the Senior Director of Process, Program, and Project Management at FirstService Brands - Technology & Process Improvement Team. Additionally, they served as the President of BrandPoint Services, Inc, and held various roles at CertaPro Painters Ltd, including VP of Commercial Services and Director of Commercial Services. Ian began their career as a Franchise Manager at College Pro Painters.

Ian Van Heyst has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Western University, which they obtained from 1981 to 1985. Ian later pursued a Master of Arts degree in English from the University of Toronto, attending from 1991 to 1993. Ian then earned a Certificate in Urban Agriculture from the University of Guelph, where they studied from 2010 to 2011. Ian furthered their education at the same university, completing a Certificate in Urban Horticulture from 2011 to 2012.

In addition to their formal education, Ian Van Heyst obtained a certification in Duolingo Spanish Fluency: Intermediate (Estimated) in April 2016 from Duolingo.
