George Morl is a seasoned Programme Manager specializing in exhibitions, currently working at Firstsite since November 2020. Responsibilities include collaborating with artists and curators to develop audience-led exhibition programs, managing Key Performance Indicators, and identifying funding opportunities for projects. Previous roles include Programme Manager (Interim) and Programme Assistant at Firstsite, as well as participation in the Jerwood Newlyn Residency at Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange. Additional experience includes positions at MK Gallery, Art Plugged, GAY TIMES, the Holocaust Educational Trust, and Beauchamps High School. George holds a Master of Arts in Fine Art from the University for the Creative Arts and has a background in autism understanding.

Firstsite is a contemporary visual arts organisation based in Colchester with a mission to make contemporary art relevant to everyone. Our integrated programme of work includes projects, exhibitions and publications by established and emerging artists, as well as extensive learning opportunities and artists’ support initiatives. Over the last fifteen years firstsite has gained a strong reputation by presenting ambitious work to new audiences in the East of England and beyond.
