Fish in a Tree: Center for Neurodiversity Education, Advocacy, and Activism is a justice-oriented, neurodivergent-led hub with national and global reach. We work at the intersections of education, employment, healthcare, culture, and public life to advance neurodiversity justice.

Our mission is to transform systems that have historically excluded autistic, ADHD, and otherwise neurodivergent people by centering lived experience, cultural leadership, and collective action. We design programs, research, and advocacy initiatives that move beyond awareness toward structural change and equity.

Flagship projects include the upcoming Graduate Program in Neurodiversity Studies (launching 2027), the Board Certified Neurodiversity Consultant (BCNC) professional credential, the Neurodiversity Justice Bookshelf (a global year-long author series), NeuroStage (a platform for neurodivergent public scholarship and performance), and the Neurodiversity Pride Day Parade – New Orleans, the first of its kind in the United States.

Through partnerships with universities, corporations, nonprofits, and cultural institutions, we provide consulting, accessibility audits, and program design to ensure meaningful inclusion. At the same time, our public writing, speaker series, and community events build cultural visibility, solidarity, and momentum for systemic change.

At Fish in a Tree, we believe neurodiversity is not a deficit to be fixed, but a vital part of human diversity. Our work insists on dignity, autonomy, and rights for all neurodivergent people, and builds a future where we can thrive, lead, and shape the world together.
