Iain Stewart-Russon is a highly experienced fisheries engineering consultant currently serving as the Principal Fisheries Engineering Consultant at Fishtek Consulting Ltd since January 2018. Prior to this role, Iain held positions as a Senior Fisheries Scientist and Fisheries Scientist at APEM Ltd from August 2011 to January 2018. Iain's academic background includes a PhD from the University of Southampton, where research focused on the behavioral responses of diadromous fish to hydraulic conditions affecting migration. Additional research experience includes a role as a Junior Researcher at Radboud University Nijmegen, studying the stress responses of fish to ectoparasites. Iain holds an MSc in Applied Marine Science from the University of Plymouth and a BSc in Marine and Freshwater Biology from Aberystwyth University.

Fishtek Consulting is a specialist consultancy offering a range of technical services, including fisheries impact assessments, hydro-power studies, fish and eel pass design/fabrication and fisheries mitigation technology. We are comprised of a team of engineers, fishery biologists, freshwater ecologists and environmental scientists, based at our offices in Devon. We are well respected in the field, with a track record of providing and developing innovative solutions to fisheries and environmental issues. We work all over the UK, as well as over-seas and have worked with a number of organisations on projects in the UK, Ireland, Laos, Liberia, Nepal, New Zealand, Norway and the USA.
