Debra Jones is an editor and writer focused on raising funds to solve the world’s greatest environmental challenges. At The Nature Conservancy, she partners with scientists, policy experts, and community conservation leaders to craft communications that inspire multimillion-dollar gifts to tackle climate change, protect life-sustaining lands and waters, and promote sustainable livelihoods. At the ClimateWorks Foundation, she produced a host of publications for high-level, international policymakers on topics including vehicle innovation, energy efficiency, and the clean energy economy. Debra was also managing editor of Sierra, the Sierra Club’s national magazine. Prior to that, she edited news stories for several technology sites including Wired.com.
Her volunteer work includes acting as training director at the Environmental Forum of Marin to produce an 18-week program of classes in 2005-7. She has a degree in business from San Jose State University, and her earlier career as a CPA and company controller provides a valuable analytical perspective that helps her scrutinize strategies and assess results.
