Aleksi Makelainen has a strong background in digital strategy and transformation, with experience in various industries. Aleksi began their career at Metso as a Sales Coordinator and later conducted a master's thesis on implementing an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Governance Model. Aleksi then joined Telia Company as a Sales Manager before moving to Accenture, where they worked as a Management Consulting Analyst and focused on digital customer experience. Aleksi also worked at Accenture Italia, where they ran design thinking strategy workshops for major clients in the retail and consumer products industries. Aleksi continued their journey at Accenture in Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden, specializing in digital customer experience and training colleagues in design thinking methodology. Aleksi then transitioned to Neste, first as a Business Development Manager and later as Head of Commercial Digitalization, responsible for defining and deploying the Commercial Digital Strategy globally. In their most recent role, Aleksi joined Fiskars Group as a Digital Strategy Lead, where they developed and implemented the company's digital growth strategy across all business areas and brands.
Aleksi Makelainen attended the University of Helsinki from 2006 to 2013, where they obtained a Master's degree in Sociology. In 2012 and 2013, they also studied at Aalto University, specializing in Industrial Engineering as a secondary subject. In 2010 and 2011, Aleksi took part in a student exchange program at Bangkok University, focusing on Economics and Entrepreneurship.
